DCSL
has two toddy distilling plants to distil spirits from coconut
toddy, located at Seeduwa and Beruwela. The Seeduwa Distillery
is greater in capacity and has a history that dates back as
far as 1913 when the company was created under a different name.
It accepts toddy from the northern segment of the tapping belt
of Sri Lanka. The subsidiary Beruwela Distillery accepts toddy
from the southern segment of the tapping belt and supplies coconut
spirits to the manufacturing units of the Kalutara region of
DCSL.
The spirits are matured at maturation warehouses in Seeduwa
and Kalutara which can accommodate capacities up to 1.5 million
bulk litres. DCSL has five bottling plants: one each located
in Seeduwa, Badulla, Kandy and two at Kalutara. Finished products
are distributed to the retail licensees by DCSL’s own
wholesale distribution network which comprises 17 wholesale
outlets strategically located island-wide.
Our art of blending is a combination of tradition and respect.
The traditional skills handed down from master blender to master
blender for generations, and the respect for the fine &
pure Liquid Arrack matured in our vats. Only the finest vats
made from generations old halmilla and teak timber are used
for the mellowing of Arrack. DCSL believe that the traditional
natural methods are the only way to get the perfect bouquet
& taste and that is what keep us the No.1 Distillery in
Sri Lanka. |
