Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka PLC releases its Annual Report for the year ended 31st March 2009

The gross turnover of the Group in the year under review was Rs. 41.21bn (2008 – Rs. 38.83 bn).

The Group profit after tax for the year was Rs. 3.4bn (2008 – Rs. 4 bn).

Total assets of the group stood at Rs. 37.64 bn (2008 – 86.2bn)

Basic earnings per share was Rs. 11.29 (2008 – Rs. 13.92)

The Board of Directors have recommended a dividend of Rs. 2.25 per share (2007/08 -Rs. 1.75 per share) for the financial year ended 31 March 2009, amounting to Rs. 675mn.
